Smart Patrol – Privacy Policy & Data Use Statement

This Privacy Policy explains how Smart Patrol (“the App”) collects, uses, and protects operational data used by ADTEC Kota Samarahan.

1. Introduction

Smart Patrol is a security monitoring and attendance system for authorized ADTEC personnel. The App enables security guards to clock in at patrol checkpoints and allows administrators to view reports, generate printable summaries, and monitor daily performance.

2. Data Collection and Use

Smart Patrol does not collect personal data from the public. The system processes institutional operational data related to patrol activities.

The App does not access device GPS, storage, or other personal data. Camera may be used only if QR code scanning is enabled for clock-in verification.

3. Third-Party Services

Smart Patrol uses Google Sheets (Google Workspace) to store patrol data. Google’s Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. No advertising SDKs or analytics are used.

  • Restricted access to authorized users
  • HTTPS encryption for all connections
  • Role-based access controls for admins and guards
  • Storage within ADTEC’s Google Workspace environment
5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

Smart Patrol does not share, sell, or transfer data to external parties. Data is used exclusively for internal security and administrative purposes.

6. User Rights

Users are institutional employees under ADTEC’s ICT policies. Requests for correction or deletion of records can be submitted through the ICT Department.

7. Children’s Data

Smart Patrol is not intended for children under 13 and does not collect children’s information.

8. Permissions Used
  • Internet Access – to communicate with Google Sheets
  • Camera (optional) – only if QR code scanning is enabled

No access to contacts, files, or device IDs is requested.

9. Policy Updates

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in requirements. The latest version will be posted on the Smart Patrol website and in the app’s “About” section.
